Microsoft's employee, Jerry Nixon, a developer evangelist said at the company's Ignite conference that "Right now we're releasing Windows 10, and because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, we're still working on Windows 10." He further explained how Microsoft was launching Windows 8.1 last year, but was developing Windows 10 in the background. While it sounds like Microsoft is pulling the plug on Windows and won't be launching future versions, the truth of the matter is that the company plans to run "Windows as a service".
