At the Lenovo Tech world conference today, Lenovo announced a smartphone with a new type of projector that can beam a touchscreen onto any surface. The smartphone is dubbed Smart Cast and has an integrated focus-free laser projector, as opposed to the DLP tech on existing projectors.
Like other projectors, Smart Cast can beam contents onto a wall, but it's the surface mode feature that makes all the difference. It enables reflection when the device is propped up with its kickstand, and the projector cap twisted at the top. Other details like the screen size, camera, battery capacity and chipset of the smartphone are unknown. You can check out the demo video below.
