Just over 23 GB will be available on the 32 GB variant of the Galaxy S6

There has been a lot of side talks about the lack of external storage option on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge ever since Samsung announced the duo at MWC. Samsung made that hard choice in favor of sexy design that can reflect light. But everyone knows that it is less expensive to buy an external 64 or 128 GB SD card than to opt for a device that has the same storage capacities built-in. As was reported earlier today, some Samsung faithfuls are not happy with the new development of not having an external storage option on the Galaxy S6. Though Samsung is throwing in an Active variant of the S6 to appease them.

Fans of the Galaxy S6, who don't feel the need for an external storage should keep in mind that the entire 32GB internal storage will not be available to users, because the operating system and pre-installed apps are going to take a huge share out of it. Users who opt for the 32GB variant of the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 Edge, will only be able to use just over 23GB for their music, videos and apps. User who chose the 64GB variant will have about 55GB of usable space, while users with the 128GB will be stuck with about 119GB of space. So if your Galaxy S6 storage capacity is lower than you expected, it's normal.

Note that these numbers may vary depending on region and mobile carrier.
